Like many of you, I’ve been watching the corner of Main and Washington with anticipation, waiting for Qdoba to finally open its doors. When one of the college students told me the day had come, Katy, Livy, Harrison, and I braved the crowds to try it out for lunch that Friday. We had a great time, saw several of you, and overall had a great experience (I measured it as a victory since no plates were dumped, no cups were spilled, and no tears were shed.) But my confidence quickly diminished a few minutes after we arrived home when I checked my phone. I have absolutely no idea how it happened, but I had dropped my credit card in the middle of Qdoba. The problem was I had no idea what I was missing! Thankfully, one of our church members found it, knew it wouldn’t have much money :-), and reached out to me to let me know she had it and would drop it by our house. I would have gone hours or possibly even days before I figured it out, but thankfully, someone TOLD me (thanks Ronna for sparing me that frustration).
As I reflected on our lunch adventure, after recovering my card, I began to think how many people do we encounter each day that need to be told or reminded of God’s love for them? Told about what they are missing out on? In Romans 10:14 Paul wrote these words, “14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” Who are the people in your life that you encounter each day or have a relationship with that need you to tell them what they are missing? Who can you share Jesus with this week?
On mission with you,
